About the Author
Jeff Gaudette
On the quiet conviction that what we've learned matters as much as what we've earned.
Why this journal exists
Jeff Gaudette created Those Are Assets Too from a simple observation: the things we work hardest to pass on — a home, savings, a business — are often the easiest to measure, and the easiest to leave behind. But the lessons, the values, the stories only we can tell? Those are the assets that quietly disappear when we do.
He wanted to make preserving them feel less like a project and more like a conversation — one that unfolds slowly, in your own words, without pressure or performance. The journal is the result: a gentle companion for anyone who has lived long enough to have something worth saying.
Jeff's hope is that the journal gives families something no estate plan ever could — a record of a person, in their own voice, kept for the people who will one day wish they had asked more questions.

A Note from Jeff
“We spend a lifetime becoming who we are. The greatest gift we can leave is the story of how we got there — not so it's followed, but so it's known.”
